The following information is provided to make your attendance at the 2026 Disaster & Emergency Management Conference (DEMC26) as pleasant as possible.

Plan Your Visit
DEMC26 will officially run from Monday 27 July to Tuesday 28 July. A number of optional pre-conference activities will also be held on Sunday 26 July for delegates who wish to participate.
Where is the conference located?
DEMC26 will be hosted at The Star Gold Coast, located at 1 Casino Dr, Broadbeach QLD.

Which is the best airport if travelling via Air?
The closest airport to the conference venue is Gold Coast Airport (OOL), located approximately 28 kilometres away, with a typical drive time of around 35 minutes. This airport offers a convenient option for domestic travellers, with a range of transport options available including taxis, rideshare services, and airport shuttles.
Brisbane Airport (BNE) is located approximately 90 kilometres from the venue. As a major international and domestic hub, it provides a wider range of flight options. Travel from Brisbane Airport to the Gold Coast typically takes around 1 to 1.5 hours by car, depending on traffic, with options including car hire, shuttle services, or train connections via the Airtrain network.
Is parking available at the conference venue?
Yes, onsite parking is available for delegates who choose to drive. For details on parking rates and options, please refer to the venue information here.
Accommodation
As a delegate, do I receive a discounted rate for accommodation when attending DEMC?
All delegates attending DEMC26 have access to exclusive accommodation rates at The Star Grand and The Star Residences (both located onsite at the conference venue), as well as Avani Broadbeach Residences, which is just a short walk away.

Please note, all accommodation booked through the conference must be paid in full prior to arrival. Any incidentals accounts must be settled upon check out.
Registration
Where do I collect my name badge?
Please collect your name badge from the registration desk and wear it each day as it is your official pass to all sessions, exhibition, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and the social functions.
When can I visit the conference registration desk?
The registration desk will be located in the Events Centre at The Star Gold Coast. The hours of operation are as follows:
Monday 27 July 7:30am – 5:00pm
Tuesday 28 July 8:00am – 5:00pm
I want to bring a colleague or team to the conference, are any discounts available?
If you would like your colleagues or team to experience DEMC, we have group rates available.
For larger teams (4+) please get in touch with Kevin our Business Partnership Manager at kevin@anzdmc.com.au.
I can no longer attend. Can I transfer my registration to my colleague or friend?
If you are unable to attend DEMC, we can offer one name change up to one week prior to the conference. Please email your request through to conference@anzdmc.com.au.
Wi-Fi
Complimentary Wi-Fi internet will be available for all delegates.
Dress Code
We ask that delegates to wear casual business attire or smart casual. You are welcome to wear your uniform if you would prefer.
Conference Program
Will DEMC26 be available to participate in virtually?
DEMC26 is an in-person conference. For this year, there are no virtual attendance options available.
Will sessions be recorded?
No, session recordings will not be available this year. Make sure you review the program in advance and plan which sessions you would most like to attend!
Catering Arrangements
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be served in the Marquee amongst the exhibitors and poster presentations.
Any special dietary requirements indicated on your registration form have been forwarded to the venue and will be catered for. If you did not add your dietary requirements at the time of registration, please email us to advise.
Social Program
What social functions are included in my registration?
The Welcome Drinks on Sunday 26 July and the Networking in the Exhibition on Monday 27 July are included in all standard registrations.
Optional add-ons include the Sunday tours and the inaugural DEMC Conference Dinner. If you have selected an All-Inclusive Registration, all of these functions are included.
