Digital Discipline - Digital Wellbeing With in Pacific Youth and Communities
Abstract
After years of having a phone addiction, Tony knew he had to seek help in order to break the cycle of phone addiction.
However there were no support groups or programmes at this time, that were specifically designed around phone or social media addiction. Through his own determination for change, he overcame his addiction by creating practical daily solutions, through research and applying what he learnt over the years on his own.
Thus Digital Discipline was born, a service dedicated to helping people of all ages become more aware of the dangers of social media and the over usage of any form of digital device.
Currently Digital Discipline has a team of 5, who are dedicated to serving our Pasifika community in the South Auckland area. We are contracted by the Ministry of Education NZ and Spark Foundation NZ to deliver Digital Discipline specific workshops to numerous schools, community groups and church groups.
We want to lead the digital wellbeing space. Digital Discipline is here to help our people understand the impact of social media, gaming and screen time as well as providing practical tools and solutions for you to balance this more efficiently.
We want Digital Discipline to be a home for all things digital wellbeing. We want to guide individuals and families on their journey to find a more balanced approach to the online and real world by providing resources and support.
We want to help 1 million people halve their screen time and be more present.
At present Digital Discipline has reached over 2000 individuals, delivered over 150 workshops and inspired thousands of people online through Digital Discipline.
