S&T Perpetrator Pattern Mapping Tool - Working Towards Better Outcomes for Families
Abstract
The workshop will highlight the importance of mapping domestic violence perpetrators' patterns of behavior for child safety workers, domestic violence advocates and service providers. In this workshop we will go into detail on how to use the Safe & Together Model’s practice tool: ‘Mapping Perpetrators' Patterns.’
The workshop is for anyone new to Mapping or already using it on a regular basis as it will provide participants an opportunity to practice the use of this tool using complex case examples. The tool will provide participants a closer look at how the Critical Components relate to assessment and case planning practice. It is a concrete tool they can use right away with their current caseload.
This workshop is also great for supervisors as the tool can be used for supervision, coaching and assessing worker’s domestic violence-informed case practice.
The Perpetrator Pattern Mapping Tool is a component of the Safe & Together CORE training. This workshop would be an introduction to the Mapping Tool, which can be used separate from the CORE training as a practice tool for working with families experiencing domestic violence. The workshop will give them skills in using the tool without them needing to have had the CORE training.
