Surviving abuse and Creating Hope Through Action.
Abstract
Why don't you just leave him?
This is the question asked by anyone that is in a safe environment. The lucky few that aren't part of a national statistics.
With 1 in every 3 women in Australia over the age of 15, subjected to family violence and 1 in every 5 subjected to sexual assault, the chances of women being subjected to the unthinkable is sadly, high.
In this presentation, Bec will speak to her experiences working with the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services in the Media Unit, subjected to self harm, numerous road crash incidents but, ongoing and increasing - the briefing reports relating to family violence.
Once the reports are in - it's too late! More needs to be done at a local, community and grass roots level.
Bec will share the work that she has done in partnership with the NO MORE Campaign and also share her own lived experience she likens to 'Waking up with the flu every single day - for years!"
On a path to connect people, share stories but offer solutions to these critical issues, Bec has founded Noone Left Behind and brings conferences, workshops and initiatives across the country "Creating Hope Through Action."

Biography
After a decade working in crisis media for the NT Police, Bec was horrified at the thought that every day people were being attacked in their own homes. She championed anti violence initiatives even though she was living the pain of family violence at home herself.
With 3 kids and no family support in the NT, Bec was displaced, broke and alone.
She founded Noone Left Behind - a series events and community workshops that brings people together to share challenges faced and offer support, connection and solutions at a grass roots level. These initiatives have branched out across the country and Bec champions mens, womens, LGBTQI, Youth and disability rights
