Abstract
We know that workplaces are key providers of protection, safety, income, and support to employees who may be at risk of family and domestic violence (FDV). But when it comes to organisations responding to employees who need support in relation to FDV, did you know that managers and contact officers each have distinct accountabilities?
This presentation explores the unique role of an FDV contact officer, and clarifies what should be expected of managers and supervisors. Included is an overview of key measures of workplace prevention and response, from fostering a respectful work culture and implementing health and safety protocols, to responding appropriately to disclosure and developing an individual safety plan.
