Why the Workplace is a Critical Setting to Keeping People Mentally Well
Abstract
Regional businesses have faced unique challenges and stressors that adversely affect mental health, often leading to burnout and fatigue.
But when a workplace is mentally healthy, significant benefits such as increased productivity and a more engaged and resilient workforce can help support recovery from these challenges.
Through detailed consultation and research, SafeWork NSW has developed tailored resources and support services to help regional NSW businesses create mentally healthy workplaces.
This presentation will provide insights and learnings from the NSW government’s 4 year mentally healthy workplaces strategy, as well as highlight the regulatory and support initiatives implemented, including the new Code of Practice for managing psychosocial hazards at work.
The session will also encourage attendees to prioritise wellbeing by providing practical steps you can take to create a mentally healthy workplace.
