Rural and Regional Victoria: Supporting Our Workforce Now and for the Future

Abstract

Victoria’s mental health and wellbeing system is being reformed to better respond to the needs of all communities and people impacted by mental illness and psychological distress. In particular, the reformed system seeks to provide a tailored response that meets the needs of our rural and regional communities.

Two years after the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System handed down its 74 recommendations to make the system larger, more accessible, more effective, and more accountable, we are working hard to ensure that all Victorians have access to the care and support they need, whenever they need it. The right care, at the right time, in the right location.

Join the Victorian Department of Health as they discuss the important role of our rural and regional workforce in the context of the reforming environment, including the additional resources, workers, programs and incentives designed to support our regional communities to thrive.
