Transforming Workplace Cultures: Practical Strategies for Promoting Mental Wellbeing
Abstract
The intention of this keynote will be to make the connection between mental wellbeing, psychological health and safety and culture. It will explore the evolution from waiting for signs that an employee may be struggling with a mental illness to proactively protecting and promoting the wellbeing of all employees. It will show that culture is the result of day to day interactions rather than any philosophy. And it will provide specific actions that any organization can take immediately, even with no budget, to begin to make a positive difference.
Three Key Learnings:
1. Psychological health and safety helps protect the mental wellbeing of all employees as well as those they serve.
2. Psychological health and safety is about how work and those at work impact employees.
3. Embedding psychological health and safety in how work is assigned and done as well as how we interact with each other is more effective than most big campaigns or programs.
