Enhancing Psychosocial Safety in the Workplace
Presentation Overview
Working in front line responder and Human Service organisations carries reward and risk, with an increasing focus on the need for psychosocial safety within the workplace. One such risk is exposure to traumatic events or stories, which can lead to distress, dissatisfaction, hopelessness and serious mental and physical health problems.
The good news is psychological, physical, social, spiritual and professional health can be enhanced by understanding the potential for vicarious trauma to occur and supporting staff with awareness and practical tools. This session will explore best practice strategies, introducing participants to two practical tools to build individual and collective capacity to respond and build sustainable and thriving teams.
Presentation Key Learnings:
1. Current trends in workforce wellbeing.
2. The most effective preventative measure any workplace can take to combat vicarious trauma.
3. The role of Safety Plans and Self Care Plans in the prevention of vicarious trauma and fuelling lasting wellbeing.
