Navigating Psychosocial Risks for a Sustainable Return to Work following Psychological Injury
Abstract
Join Kristin Tinker, National Manager of Resilia, in an insightful discussion on the complex process of reintegrating individuals into the workforce following psychological injuries. This talk sheds light on the multifaceted challenge of successful reintegration and emphasises the need for a comprehensive understanding of psychosocial risks.
Tinker explores the limitations of traditional rehabilitation approaches that often place the entire burden of recovery on the injured worker. She advocates for a more holistic perspective, wherein the workplace actively engages in addressing the psychosocial factors that contributed to the injury. By taking into account organisational dynamics, personal factors, and treatment effectiveness, Tinker underscores the critical considerations and strategies required to facilitate a sustainable return to work (RTW).
Central to this talk is recognising that psychosocial risks play a pivotal role in recovery. Tinker highlights the significance of collaborative efforts among stakeholders to pave the way for a sustainable RTW journey for individuals recovering from psychological injuries. This talk is valuable for understanding the interplay between personal wellbeing, workplace dynamics, and effective rehabilitation, ultimately fostering a more supportive and productive work environment.
