Australia Awards Presentation | Northern Australia-Indo- Pacific Connectivity: Doing Regional Cooperation Differently

Presentation Overview

Australia Awards Scholarships are prestigious long-term awards funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). These scholarships aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to drive positive change and contribute to the development of their home countries. In doing so, the program supports Australia’s broader goals of promoting regional growth, stability, and strengthening partnerships across borders. The initiative fosters enduring connections between people and organisations, deepening mutual understanding and cooperation. Australia Awards Fellows are high-achieving students and professionals who demonstrate the potential to become influential leaders in their respective fields. They participate in academic study, research, and professional development activities as part of their fellowship experience.

As a parallel event to the Developing Northern Australia Conference, the Northern Australia Universities Alliance has organised a development program specifically for Australia Awards Fellows. Themed " Northern Australia-Indo- Pacific Connectivity: Doing Regional Cooperation Differently” this workshop will explore strategies for enhancing regional collaboration. The program will feature presentations from four selected Fellows, each offering unique insights on improving cooperation across the Indo-Pacific. Their contributions will address a range of key issues and propose actionable ideas to strengthen regional partnerships and unlock collective potential.
