Teen Spirit - How Growing Your Spirit Changes Everything

Abstract

Our current mental health crisis is a crisis of the human spirit. Schools are designed to achieve brain development but we are failing at human development. We teach teens about the world but not themselves. We teach teens how to pass tests but not how to imagine a future they can’t wait to live. What's missing? A comprehensive curriculum that is designed to teach teens how to develop the non-organ part of the body - the human spirit?

We need to teach teens that understanding and enhancing their spirit is just as important as their report card. We need to teach them how to hack into the spirit to build a life filled with passion and purpose. This is the ultimate preventative measure to protect teens against mental health pressures.

What would 'teen spirit' education look like. First it involves understanding that self-knowledge equals empowerment, and navigating the 'invisible' parts of our selves is pivotal to that process. We look at three aspects of spirit: faith, emotions and characteristics.

Each sector involves a deep dive into the subconscious to examine the beliefs that are driving the behaviour. We then examine how to delete damaging beliefs and install beliefs that will drive positive outcomes. At the core of this section is downloading a set of beliefs where each teen becomes convinced that they are enough and that they have worth. We look at how learning this is a skill that's achieved through repetition and reinforcement, much like any other subject across the curriculum. The next phase is to see how spirit is present in relationships. We use the same matrix to examine the relationship you have with yourself, your family, your friends, your school and social media. The final section is the activation of the teen spirit that leads to transformation.
