Tracking Student Wellbeing - Key Findings from 20,000 Students
Abstract
20,000 students across F-12 took part in the pilot, where schools monitored their wellbeing with 1-minute weekly check-ins. They answered questions covering their general wellbeing, resilience, safety, belonging and protective behaviours like sleep, schoolwork and family.
5 key findings from the research:
• Every week, up to a third of students struggled with their wellbeing.
• 4 out of 5 students that needed help each week were different than the week before.
• Most students found it hard to ask for help.
• Using the tool, many students reached out for help for the first time.
• After the implementation of the check-in, there was a positive uptick in students knowing where to go when they’re struggling.
From the pilot, we now have an evidence-based view into the insights behind student wellbeing. These findings show an opportunity for schools to respond quickly and achieve positive results. Join Amanda at this session to learn more about the full findings.
