The future of energy production in the Pilbara

Abstract

Key learnings from presentation:
Liz will provide an update on Woodside’s activities in Western Australia and talk more broadly about the role and contribution our industry makes to:

1. creating economic prosperity
2. providing energy security; and
3. enabling the energy transition

Gas is critical to the future of Northern Australia, we progress our aspiration to thrive through the energy transition as a critical producer of the reliable, low-cost and lower-carbon energy the world needs now and into the future.

The North West region has been our home for the past 40 years. We’ve spent time building meaningful relationships with community for positive social outcomes. We’ve contributed to economic prosperity by partnering with local suppliers, all while providing safe and reliable energy for Western Australian businesses and the region.
Northern Australia will continue to play an important role in providing the energy that the world needs. New developments such as the Scarborough Energy Project will provide much needed supply whilst also providing tangible benefits through local content, jobs and social contribution.
Woodside pioneered the development of the LNG industry from Karratha and we will use that same courage and innovative approach as demand increases for new energy products. The North West will continue to play a very important role in the future of affordable and reliable energy as Woodside embarks on its journey through the transition.
