Stolen Generations Healing Camp - Connecting to Country, Culture and the Spirit of the Ancient
Abstract
Stolen Generations live with the ongoing impacts of complex, intergenerational trauma. Being stolen from our families has for many, torn us from culture and broken ties to the Ancient sources of wisdom and healing. We may be left feeling unanchored, unconnected and thrown into an alien environment, beyond a grounded sense of place and purpose. Healing camps can provide a culturally safe space for inviting reconnection to culture and offer ways to draw upon ancient sources of healing.
This presentation describes a healing camp methodology conceptualized, and designed by and with Stolen Generations members, led by Indigenous practitioners and guided by Custodians on Country.
